Tunze 9010 in tank micro bubbles

I have had my Tunze 9010 setup in my sump of my 55 gallon reef for the past seven months. It has worked flawlessly. No problems with micro bubbles and skimmed great. I just recently set up a new 90 gallon reef but I installed the skimmer in the tank. I now have a tank full of micro bubbles which are being produced by the skimmer. You can see the bubbles coming out of the bottom of the skimmer. The tank has been set up now for three weeks with three damsels. I have tried reducing the flow with the sliding door but this has not helped. I have the correct plate on the bottom of the skimmer. The one with the slots in it. It seems to be installed properly. It does produce foam along with the micro bubbles. Is this normal because the tank has only been setup for three weeks? Is there something I am doing wrong with the setup of the skimmer? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

It could be a couple things, from a technical point of view be sure the outlet of the skimmer pump is inside the clear jet pipe in the skimmer and close the intake door, be sure you removed the coupler between the intake and the pump when you converted it to in tank. The other possibility is it is an issue with the new tank chemistry. Being newer the oxygen levels and KH are probably fairly high so you are near the limits of gas saturation and any added gas will bubble out. There may also be a lot of colloids from any dechlorinator/ stress coat or new salt mix which would change the surface tension and increase the distance the bubbles can travel.
