Roger,

I need your help. I've had the 9010 running for several years and decided to "upgrade" to the 9011. I bought it on April 2nd of this year and since then I have not been able to produce more than 1" of skimmate a week if that.

The sump runs about 4" high in water. sometimes a bit more.

I installed it the same as the 9010 except for the chamber inside that "by your techs" is supposed to be free from being attached to the inner wall as the 9010. It's in an Elos 70 sump using the suction feet and side. The vent on the side is wide open and the blue screw is almost off.

Do you know what could be wrong? I'm a but concerned as the only filtration right now since it's poor performance is my filter sock and starting to get an algea outbreak. :eek1:

I thank you in advance for any help and guidance, and would appreciate anything you can do to help.

Daniel

First be sure, water is exiting the stand pipe, if not there is something hooked up wrong and the skimmer cannot work.

Be sure the blue sponge is not above the top of the pipe. If so water backs up into the air intake.

Make sure the air hose is not too long and kinking. Some skimmers made late last year had an excessively long air hose. When hanging free, it should protrude only about 1" from the bottom of the skimmer. It can also get pinched between the pump and body.

Thanks for your response Roger, I'm goign to brake out the 9010 that I still have as backup and match the air hose length as the water is exiting the stand pipe and the blue sponge is below the top of the pipe.

I'll let you know if the air hose is the culprit.

Thanks again for your response and hopefully I can start skimming again,

Daniel

Keep me posted, while you have the pump out, I would also compare the venturi to the 9010, be sure it is not broken, this is another possibility.

The venturi is the chamber with the little cap on top that is not attached in the 9011 but attached to the side in the 9010? What should I be looking for in regards to broken?

Part 3130.130, the impeller housing should be identical between both pumps, if they seperate or look different, one is broken.

Roger,

I did notice that the clips from the 9011 had some play complared to the clips from the pump on the 9010.

The clips on the impeller housing? This would be normal, the key will be the nozzle where the air connects, if should come apart like your 9010, if it seperates differently, it may be broken, if you PM me an email address I can send pictures showing what I mean.

New pump is in. I'll keep you posted. As Always, BEST Customer Service from any company EVER.

Thanks Roger,

Daniel
