Tunze 9012 in sump with large lip

Roger,

What is a reliable, cost effective method of mounting the tunze 9012 in an acrylic sump with a large lip? I have seen a magnet extension 6065.520, but that thing is about 75 bucks. Is there another way?

Thanks,
Scott

The magnet extensions only add about 1/2". If it was me and I needed more, I would get some 2" PVC, put a cap on each end (flat, not the domed kind, flat are usually for low pressure. Drill four holes to accept the rubber feet on each side and buy another set of the rubber feet and make a spacer of the length needed. Please note, I have never done this, it is just the best idea I have to gain more distance and usually acrylic lips are very wide. If the skimmer is not used or opened or even purchased yet, I might reconsider, the 9410 is really the best one for in sump use.
