how long does the impeller last for these pumps? I have one that is going strong for about 4 years now. The impeller is from when I first purchased the pump. However, the humming noise has been increased. what should I check?
Generally after about 5 years it is best to replace them, they still will work but due to wear they may be unbalanced and make more noise and generate less bubbles. I would verify the bushings are clean and the shafts can freely spin in the bushings.
