Tunze box misprinted

Afternoon. I purchased a package deal of (2) 6000 and the 7095 controller. I have sold the controller and (1) supposed 6000 before opening the boxes. Today I opened my supposed 6000 to start getting it all set up. However, the pump reads 6100???? And the mounting options are horrible and do not work for an all glass tank, or I am missing something. The plastic screws provided are not long enough to span the frame of the all glass tank. So that is a concern of mine as well as the box being mislabeled? Anyone have thoughts on this or use the Tunze mounting kit with a 75g all-glass?

Buy a magnetic mount.
The standard hardware is almost useless on an AGA tank.

I believe all the pumps state 6100. It is the transformer that determines whether its a 6000 or 6100.

The motor on both pumps is part number 6100.10, as was stated the transformer determines what pump it is.

The holder should look like this when assembled for a US tank.

Thanks Roger. The screws that were in the bag were the plastic screws which were not long enough. Seems the stainless screws fell out into the box and I did not see them. reason I stated I may be missing something. I will give that a try and see what happens.

Looks like this mounting kit is not Canopy friendly. That really blows. I don't know that the magnets will allow the proper adjustment I need to keep my sand from blowing. Maybe the deco rock? Can I just lay the pump in the water resting on a rock?

Hmmm...What to do???

Can you mount it to the overflow or on the back? The magnets would not change the mounting, it should give the same range of movement as the rail. The Stream rock is useful for sand issues because it aims the pump upwards slightly.

The back is out as the canopy rail sits on the back of the tank. The overflow may work, but then I would have to re-route my return tubing. Overflow is in the back left, I bought 12" of modular hose to have the return exit the back left corner and go across the tank. I was going to have the Tunze on the right side going across. The overflow drain is on the left of the oveflow and drain is on the right with the all-glass tanks. I don't know what the best option is here. Rock or magnet?

The rock is big, it measures 10" by 10" by 6" tall and it has to be mounted at least 4 inches above the sand on a stack of rock. If you can live with that, I vote rock. It's upturned angle pretty much eliminates any sand bed issues.

Which mounting option is better for the corals? I can live with a rock I guess and possibly hide it under and between what I have now. Just want to make sure what I do is the best for the livestock.

You don't want to go to any great lengths to hide it, remember it has to be easy to remove the pump for cleaning, which you have to do every few months. I set mine at the top of a small pile of rock on one side. On top of that I put a polyp rock so it is now covered in polyps and coralline and you can barely tell it isn't a regular piece of live rock. The Stream rock angles the flow up about 5 degrees, this is probably the best solution for you.

Makes sense not to hide it/cover it with rocks. I can always cover it like you mentioned with Zoanthids or something which I have plenty to cover that size rock. Will this rock eventually turn into live rock? I too think the rock would be better. Would be better on the eyes for sure instead of having a powerhead on the side of the glass. And the benefit of the sand not moving as much hopefully.

Yes, it is ceramic and while it will be stark white when you get it, in 3 months it will look pretty natural. I know the dealers may be out of stock but I got some in Fri and we will start filling orders today so in a week it should be ready to ship if you order one.

I was going to order everything today actually. The 7091 controller and the rock. I would like to get this going as quickly as possible. Maybe I will get lucky and find someone with it in stock. Wishful thinking I am sure.

You were not kidding Roger. 1 place has the rock in stock, but they do not have the controller in stock or the photo cell. Man o man. Must be some good quality stuff for everyone to be out of stock on it.

I have tons of single controllers here and a fair number of photocells, those should not be out of stock.

I was told those items were both out of stock by the company that had the rock and they did not know when they would recieve anymore. Yet, others had just the opposite answer. I imagine I can not buy direct from you can I?
