Roger,
I have a Tunze classic skimmer that I need a silencer for. It looks like the now obsolete ones, 235 I believe except my "body" is longer and the pump number is 233.02. The silencer appears to hook into a venturi hole in the pump output nozzleand then into a pipe with a wing nut regulator of some sort that fits into the silencer.
Looks like mine needs a flexible tube that's a bit longer than what one might have on the most recent 235 series that I see in the catalog.
Will the 230.49 silencer work or will I have to retro the tubing and is it some metric size that I'll have trouble adapting?
Embarrassingly enough, I had the part but it "grew legs" as my dad used to say when I was looking to use it to do a temporary fix on my Comline in-sump skimmer.
Also, there are a variety of holes and openings....one drilled in the clear acrylic riser tube just above the water line, and 2 in the brown ring that the skimmer cup sits on, a small one that would likely be for ozone and a large one that I would suppose should be the air input regulator....but if so, what's the wing nut for on the tube that connects the silencer to the riser tube?
I really don't need to get this skimmer running, but a good old classic like this one would be quite the conversation piece on my reef tank.
Your advise, as usual, is appreciated.
