tunze comline 3130/2 vs 9005

someone on this forum is selling the reefpack with the older skimmer model. I was wondering what the differences are. Thanks!

The older style skimmer is more passive and works on a type of osmosis where it skimmers the water inside the chamber and then slowly swaps with the aquarium water this was designed to be plankton freindly the newer model is more more aggressive and will collect more volume and this seems to be more desirable to hobbiests at the moment.

I would say a 3130/2 and a 9005 are nearly equal but a 3130/2 uses a bigger motor to accomplish the same so the power draw is slightly higher. The skimmer is also a bit taller due to the taller cup.
