I was thinking of buying a set up but i was told buy a friend that it would be to strong for a 48/24/24 tank and that i would have to turn it down so much it would not be worth it .is this true? The one I was looking at had 2 power heads not sure what it was now, might have been 6100

hey no_nutin I have the same tank size as yours and I got myself a TS07 kit (includes 1 controller + 6000 stream) a few weeks ago. I have a mag12 pump which is split by a SWCD as my return flow and I found that was not creating enough current. The tunze alleviated that and now there is flow in just about every area of the tank. I run the stream 24/7 and the power level is set to max and so far no problems. IMO , one stream is enough, but 2 streams may be overkill.

Hey no-nutin,

I've got the same size/dimension tank as you do. It is predominantly SPS. I have the multi-controller and two Stream 6000's. I don't think it's too much flow...even when I had a return pump putting back about 1100gal/hour thru 2 sea-swirls (have since removed the sea-swirls and downgraded the return pump trying to simplify my setup) in addition to the Streams, I didn't think it was too much (though I did have the Streams positioned at the back corners of my tank).

I've since moved them to opposite ends of my tank. They pulse from 30% - 100% and provide really good water movement.

I really like the Streams...just like any Tunze product, they're really well-made.

Hope this helps.

Thomas
