tunze for 120gl

2 6000's would be better because you can control the pumps, the 6060's are not suitable for anything but a basic timer at 1hr intervals, likely you would just run one at a time and alternate back and forth at 1hr intervals.

Roger,

I too have a 120 (48" x 24"). You suggested 2 6000s. Would you use the multicontroller to controll them?

I am thinking of setting up a 6000 on singlecontroller. (money) My tank would be manly LPS and with a deep sand bed. Will I be happy with a 6000 on a single controller or should I save money and get something else?

The only other current is the return pump which is about 1200 gph.

Thanks,
Chris

Roger,

I am thinking mainly Euphyllia. I am leaning towards a torch (Euphillia Glabrescens).

If I tought an elegance coral (Catalaphyllia Jarbinei) would survive I would get one. So it is on the list if it can ever be determined why many do not make it in capativity.

Would a singe wave box be better? For the sand bed it will be at least 4" deep and will probuably be just plain old silcia sand. (I know, but I have used it in the past without issues. )

Or what devices do you recommend for my setup?

Thanks for your input. I just want to get the right equipment the first time. (-:

Thanks,
Chris

They don't do well with Streams. The wavebox is really the ideal with a couple smaller pumps, the nano Streams would be a good future addition. The wavebox alone is really not enough but it doesn't take much more to get decent flow for those corals.

Roger,

Thanks for the advice. It helps to know I am getting honest great advice. So how to get on the waiting list for the nano Streams? (-: If they do come out in October time frame that may work out well for me.

Thanks,
Chris

I would recommend a couple of the non controllable 6045 with the wavebox to add some randomness. The 6045 should be out in late september, I think Premium Aquatics and MRC and Champion already have wait lists going but I would check with them I am sure as we get closer all dealers will start with a wait list.
