tunze in 55gal

Can i use 2 Tunze Turbelle Ã"šÃ‚® Stream 6060 in a 55 gallon tank.

i have my own wave maker can these be used on it( simple on off system with the use of x10 unit)


are these better then me doing a closed loop system?

2 6060 will likely be too much, I might look into 2 3000/2. Keep in mind turning either of these models off and on more than once an hour destroys the pump and voids the warranty. We recommend only simple timers with one hour intervals. Your tank is to narrow for the Stream pumps to be useful. The ideal set up would be 2 7200/2 and the multicontroller.

So how does the pump make waves dose it jsut turn down and speed up

It slows down and speeds up, it can also be turned off by our controllers because the electronic type of pumps use a computer system to regulate startup so the unidirectional clutch mechanism is not subjected to the normal on and off abuse.

I'm looking for alternatives to the MJ Powerheads I have in tank now.

I would get 2 6000's and the 7095 and you can start with one and add the controller and a second 6000 later.
