tunze is on summer vacation???

im in hong kong right now trying to find the tunze 9002 protien skimmer. i couldnt find any so i called up the distributer in hong kong on the tunze website to see if they even import that skimmer.

they guy told me "the people in tunze is having summer vacation right now, we wont be getting any shipment until september"

I can't speak specifically for Tunze, but that's pretty standard for European manufacturing as far as I can tell. Typically there is a period of 2-4 weeks that they shut plants down for maintenance, vacation, renovation, etc. If the plant is shut down, they need to ramp back up, then get products shipped back out, I would imagine it's possible that HK wouldn't see anything for a month or so.

Just speculation and some additional insight however.

ah...didnt know theres such standard in europe. i thought only schools get summer vacation time.

ah well...if i have to wait..then i guess i have to wait, my tank isnt quite ready anyways, hopefully it would be up and running when the shipment gets here

I just called this morning, the factory is definitely open, the standard 4 week summer vacation in Europe is the month of August. Tunze has staggered the vacations since 2003 and they are open all year except 2 weeks for Christmas. In August the have only 1/2 staff and in July and September it is 3/4 staff about.
