Tunze Master Recirculation Pumps

Hi Roger -

Is there only one version of this pump available? I'm planning a 250g display with 150g sump (half fuge, half live rock). I will be gravity-feeding a BK skimmer from the overflow. Do you think this is a good choice for my system? Most folks seem to go with Hammerheads and whatnot, but as you know, I'm a Tunze fan (and the power consumption looks amazingly low).

Also, is the pump quiet?

(1073.090)

Pumping capacity: 8,300 l/h
(2,190 US gal./h)
Energy consumption: 120 W
Pumping head: 5 m (196.8 in.)
Voltage / frequency: 230V/50Hz (115V/60Hz)

It doe have very low energy consumption but the noise is about the same as the Hammerhead and other air cooled pumps. It is a trade off, this pump is very energy efficient but because of the water cooled design it builds up calcium much faster and if you go with it you need to install it so it can be removed every 4-6 months for cleaning. It has to be dissassembled and the calcium deposits cleaned out.
