Tunze Multi Controller vs. 2 Single Controllers

I have a 65g tank, with shallow sand bed, no sump (no surface skimming), and run a 9010 skimmer in-tank. It's an sps dominant tank. I'm currently running 2 x 6055s each on a separate single controller for flow and am able to generate somewhat of a random flow just by adjusting the different pulse lengths. I actually have a 3rd 6055 that I could run as well, but when I tried it, even dialing back the flow on 2 of them, my sand bed was stirred around pretty good.

My question is this: would I benefit from running my 2 (or 3) 6055's on a multi-controller vs. my current 2 single controllers?

Thanks

Yes because the multicontroller will enable you to turn a pump off while 2 run or vice versa or idle one pump at 30% , you can coordinate the flow better.

Thanks for the info Roger. I'm going to give one a try and see how it changes things.

On a side note, I was cleaning my 9010 yesterday and noticed a significant bulge on the top of the motor housing, like it is getting close to popping off the cover. Anything to worry about? It still works fine.

That doesn't sound good, I would send in the pump. It could be nothing at all but I would feel safer if we checked it. Possibilities are that the resin was overfilled and swelled the cap, water has penetrated the motor or it overheated at one point.
