tunze nano issue

So I posted a few weeks ago about my tunze nano not starting and sucking water in through the front. Here is the latest

because of a million reasons I didn't take the nano appart until today. I just didn't have time to deal with it if there was an issue. So the nano still sometimes does not start I need to poke the pop with a stick, and when it does start it sucks air in through the front until I cover the front and cause suction.?

So I took it appart and the sharft is connected fine to the unit. Just the prop and magnet unit came off when I pulled them. I dont see any other parts in there that can cause a proble. It is making a mess of my tank though because when it sucks water in through the front it shoots all the algae on the back of the unit all over the tank.

any thoughts

I can send a new drive unit and disk, this will likely solve the issue, or you can return the pump and I will replace it when more arrive.

What is the drive unit and disk? is that the prop and magnet or the actual motor. I just want to make sure I am capable of putting it together myself. If its tricky I would just assume wait for a new unit.

Basically, if the shaft of your pump stays in place in the pump, the only possible culprit is the drive unit (magnet and propeller assembly). It could have a very tight fit and not allow the pump to reverse. The disk is a washer at the bottom of the shaft, it is best replace it when changing the drive unit.

a new drive unit sounds fine.

Just to be clear on the shaft. It was attached to the unit fine I think but it did have some wiggle in it.

Will I need to send my drive unit in first. I'll need a plan to replace the pump for a while as I am using my backup pump in another tank.
