Having issues with the pump. When the float switch is low enough to kick the pump on the pump Will just sit and vibrate. If I unplug the power for a few minutes then plug it back in it will work. I bought the unit about 4 to 5 months ago. Any help would be great.

If the pump does this after running 1.8 minutes continuously on the last cycle, that is normal, it is the safety timer described on pages 22-29 and out of the box it is set for tanks under 25 gallons, for larger tanks you need to increase this to 3 minutes and then the limit is 55 total volume. I would start by making sure this is set correct and run the pump while timing it to see if it runs as long as it should, after the time out the only way to reset it is to unplug and plug it back in, no wait should be needed. This safety exists so if the float fails a flood would not occur, with things warming up the evaporation is likely increased so for example on a 25-35 gallon tank it may have worked until now but the longer 3 minute timer is now needed.

This its on a 5 gallon tank. If I manually push the float switch down it will just vibrate. I will make sure the setting

The default setting should be fine on a 5 gallon for sure. I would verify that the pump can run for 1.8 minutes, after that it should just twitch which is an alarm to indicate it has timed out. The pump could simply be air locked, I would verify when it runs that the impeller turns (visible through the hole in the bottom) if it stops in a short time (less than 30 seconds) or the impeller is not turning smoothly when it runs, the issue is a bad pump and it would be replaced under warranty.

Looks like the pump is the problem. Held the float switch down and saw the impeller is just turning about 1/8" at a time.

My apologies for missing your post, can you email me a copy of your receipt?

Mine does this occasionally as well. I've replaced the pump twice (once under warranty, once with a new spare I bought) with no change. I don't think it's ever run for 1.8 min, as I think I would have a wet floor to show for it.

Multiple bad pumps is unusual, I would time it and if it ever runs dry, keep in mind the pump may run the full time without pumping any water due to an airlock, the pump cannot prime and pump if it has an air bubble trapped inside. When placing it in a new reservoir or filling an empty one, tip the pump upside down to purge any trapped air.

Well the pump is doing the same thing again. If i push the flat down to kick the pump on i hear the controller click then the pump just shakes (bumps). If i unplug the power the controller resets and pump works fine. But, next time i have to do it all over again.

If the impeller on the pump ticks almost like the second hand on a clock or watch, this is a controller issue, a safety to cut off the pump is over sensitive. Send in the controller and we will repair it.
