AVA and Mr Pink Floyd...mine is in a 29 gallon nano attached to the back corner and I have to have it bounce off the glass or it blows the sand all over the place. When you look at the pump it's not closed off, the whole thing is a cage so there nothing to slow the flow as it get to a good sized propeller, not a impeller like most powerheads have. It really pushes the water and I think if you have it blowing straight at the SPS you have, it might be too much flow if it's constant. They like intermittent flow. I have mine on a timer with my lights, it kicks on in the morning and shuts off at night to imitate the ocean, which gets quieter at night. I got rid of the JBJ pump that came with my nano and put in a Lifetech AP 1500, it's a JEBO I know but those things just run and run. The best thing I added was a Hydor rotating powerhead deflector...the force of the water coming out of the pump makes it rotate 360 degrees, so everything has an ebb and flow to it. They're not very expensive and they come with adaptors so they fit most any nano. I helped a friend up-grade a 12 gallon and it works great. I also stuck a Rio 600 in a mass of rocks pointing towards the bottom back of the tank to keep any crude from accumulating there.
