Hey guys,

I have owned my tunze for about 2months and it has trouble starting. It has never been on a timer or wavemaker. I have to poke it with a stick in order to get it spinning. I have emailed tunze on their website. Is there someone else I can contact to get this fixed?

Thanks,

Paul

What email did you use, did you just send it? Roger is quite responsive to all inquiries. Have you taken the pump apart at all? If not check some simple things like is the shaft seated securely. also did it do this from the start? If not and you have not taken it apart might just need a good cleaning, careful not to loose the washer behind the impeller.

If not check some simple things like is the shaft seated securely or broken(these issues were fixed from early models quite sometime ago but might have gotten one that sat on the shelf a while).... also did it do this from the start? At times there is a bit of vasilene left around the impeller from the dry run at the factory but would think it would not be the prob now if been in service for 2 months.

Hi my email was sent from pagonzal and I did PM him as well. It just starting doing this. It was working just fine when I got it. There is no build up on the bump and I have taken it apart to check. When it does eventually start to spin again there is alot of chatter.

djpaul81,

The impeller shaft may not be completely centered and causing that noise. Check to see if the impeller shaft moves at all or if it in fact comes out. This should not happen and it should be seated very firm in the pump. If you would like, go ahead and send it in to us so that we may look at it and replace it if necessary.

I have sent it to the address that Rodger gave me this morning. It should be there by Friday or Tuesday due to the holiday.
