tunze nanostream question

how does the Tunze Turbelle NanoStream Pump 6025 compare in flow the the maxi-jets? I saw it on marine-depot and am considering it. Currently i have a 29g with just a mj600, hob refugium, and hob skimmer for flow. I had another mj 600 in there but that would be a total of 4 powerheads in the water which looks crowded so im looking to replace the mj600 with something stronger. I was considering a mj1200 but saw the nanostream and was looking for opinions.

Thanks!

tunzes do not compair with Maxi jets. It would be like comparing a bicycle with a fighter jet. Or better yet like comparing a good pump with a bad one. I love my 6025. I also have a seio which work very well but is much larger than the tunze.

Get it, you will not be let down

thanks blackheart thats pretty much what i wanted to hear :) do you think one of those along with the hob fuge will provide decent flow for a 29g?

I do think it sould be enough with just that but i like to have an extra pump in there just to break up the flow a little bit

I have 2 6025s in my 55g and for now while it is new and corals are being put in I only keep 1 on.. 2 is nearly too much flow (will be better later when i have sps and they grow out)

I'll have to tag in here, as well.

Couldn't be happier with mine. My son has one in a 24G and thought it was too much flow. But he's a believer now...

Great product...

All im running in my 29 is a 6025 and a HOB fuge, the fuge is around 105GPH, thats it, it also dumps back in the tank in the corner, adding no extra flow, i keep everything, SPS, softies, even a clam, its all about placement, then letting all the sand settle as the dead spots get blown away

I found a mod i did(and a few others tried afer i posted) to my 6025, doubles the flow, and works great, check the mod here:

buy two 6025's and put them on timers...15 minutes on/off each alternating. i bounce the flow off the front glass as you can see.

i have one in my ten. I had one bald spot that with carful rock placement is gone. I put a piece of nylon over the front at first as not to shock the tank but now all is good.

Is there anything like a hydor flo to diffuse the flow or do you think making trims to the output end would do the same thing?
