Tunze Osmolator 3155 Hose to Pump

I was looking over my osmolator 3155 last night to become familiar with the installation. Can someone clarify how the black hose attaches to the pump? The manual states, "Push the hose on to the neck of the metering pump right up to stop." The tubing is fairly rigid and I can't see how it would fit "on to" the neck of the metering pump. If it was silicone tubing it would make sense. The only thing that I can figure out is that I can shove it (VERY tight fit - won't go in far at all) into the removable adapter that attaches to the pump. I'm sure the pump isn't strong enough to blow the hose out, but I want to avoid any issues and do it the way recommended by Tunze. I just not sure what that is right now...

The hose inserts into the fitting. Here is how I do it, cut the hose at an angle so you have a point to start, spit also helps. Then just push in with a twisting motion, about 1/4-1/2" is fine.

i purchased one used and it didn't come with the hose adapter (white) is that part needed?

Yes, and it only comes with the pump, you would need a new pump 5000.020. Without this the hose will not fit tight and the hose can touch the impeller and stop it.
