Hi Rodger,

My osmolator somehow is not pumping water back in tank. the yellow light turns on for one sec with the pump turning on then turns off w/ pump and tries again and turns off. Then the red light eventually turns on and says water level low.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mel

Hi Mel,

How old is the unit? It sounds like the controller is functioning correctly but the pump isn't cooperating. Please check the wire connection between the controller and the pump. Make sure the tips of the wires are clean and shiny where they connect. You can also disconnect the pump from the controller and see if it runs when connected to a 9V battery. Let us know what you find and we can figure it out from there.

The issue is the current limitation of the controller, if it is a pre 2007 controller, the pump can only draw 800mA before the controller with shut it down, on a post 2007 model this is 1200mA. The only way a pre 2007 controller can run a pump made after 2008 is at 9V, the power supplies of this time period were 9V or switchable from 9-12V. If it is a later osmo, the issue will be the pump is dying or the connector is corroded and the problem part should be replaced.
