Tunze Osmolator high/safety sensor placement

Curious what others are doing.

I just got an Osmolator, and I'm wondering where to set up the high/safety sensor.

If I put it on the disc with the optical, then when I turn the return off for any reason the alarm will go off.

I could put it at the high-level with the return off, but then if the pump went crazy and overfilled and I lost power, I'd have a flood.

Perhaps I should connect the power for the osmolator to the same switch as the return, so when I power off the return, the osmolator also turns off?

I have mine placed about 3/4" higher than the main/optical sensor. If the main sensor fails, I want the backup sensor to stop the pump immediately, not after several gallons are dumped into the sump.

You need to shut the osmolator off before you shut your pumps off, and turn it back on again after the water level stabilized. Normally after the pumps and the skimmer are running for few minutes. The alarm tells you that the water is too high. It is working they way it should.

I have mine about an inch higher than the eye. I do unplug the ATO when doing a WC or whenever I turn the return off.
