Tunze osmolator: how often does it top off

was wondering how often the unit checks to see if it needs to run the top off pump? I realize it will run a max of 10 minutes but does it check constantly or every say 30 minutes?

It uses a sensor, whenever the sensor goes open,( or closed) it tops off. So it is always monitoring.

As mc-cro said, the infared sensor is continuously monitoring the water level.
