Tunze osmolator problem

Hi,

I have the tunze osmolator for my water topoff. Lately the sensor has failed on me a couple of times. When i see that it's stopped, i go over with a toothbrush and it seems to start working again. I've had to do this a few times and i am afraid that it will fail when i am away.

Is it possible that some calcium or salt creep is causing this malfunction. Like i said when i brush it, it starts pumping water back and stops when it reachs the water level. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Soak the optic sensor in undiluted white vinegar for 30minutes. I can replace the optic sensor if the problem continues because it is scratched but most likely it is the result of a film of lime deposits.
