tunze osmolator pump acting up

Roger,

Ive had the tunze osmolator over a year and never any problems. I only run ro water in the reservior. However, lately the pump has been acting weird. The controller starts to call for water and I hear the pump running, but it isnt pumping any water. I reset the controller, by powering it off, and sometimes the pump will start to pump water. Other times, it will just pump dry for 10 minutes and I will get the red light on the controller. Is the pump going bad?

Does the container the pump is in run dry before this happens?

I would try first just tipping the pump upside down while it is running, if the reservoir is emptied at some point it can result in pump getting airlocked and tipping it upside down while running will let the air escape.

I tried doing that but now it seems the pump has died. I do not get any response now from the pump when resetting.

I've had the exact same thing just happen to me. Does that mean that it's the pump that is dead? Or a controller problem? Than ks

It could be either one, it is usually the controller if the controller is more than 18 months old and the pump slows to a stop, it is usually the pump if the pump won't run at all.
