tunze osmolator question...

I have been using a tunxe osmolator for a little over a year. at about six months, it started to turn itsself off every once in a while. at first it was very infrequent, but now it happens all the time. it inly turns on if you tap on the side of it and then it lights up. i am guessing there is some kind of a loose wire inside of it. do I need to get a whole new osmolator or can I just order the main controll unit? is this covered under warranty?

great products by the way, this is deffinately an isolated incident and should not disscourage anyone from getting an osmolator.

Check the tip from the transformer for corrosion/salt crust. You could also open the controller and check that the spring pin that grabs the tip is not worn, you can usually just bend it out a bit to improve the contact. You could also see if the solder is loose while you do this. I can certainly repair it but it may be a simple DIY.
