Tunze Osmolator trouble

I have a Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155 metering pump. It is about two years old.
When the source water runs out the pump just runs, it does not shut itself down.
Any suggestions as to why?

It normally takes 10 minutes to shut off, have you waited the full 10 minutes?

Only let it run about 5min. I was afraid it would ruin the pump.

The pump is not harmed by running dry, it shuts off after 10 minutes if a fill is not registered more as a safety in case the tank was leaking or the hose came disconnected.
