Tunze placement question to Roger or any other Tunze users

Hello Roger or anyone else who responds. I just received my 2 tunze 6000's yesterday along with the mulit controller. After trying to hook them up to my acrylic tank I realized that i will have to do some modifications to get them to mount correctly on my acrylic tank. I have to get one of the tunzes to go in 4 inches towards the side glass and I have to get the 2nd Tunze to go in about 9 inches on the opposing side. After reading several posts I have decided that I will be using the method of drilling a hole thru thru the top of the acrylic where the bracket will go thru and then clamp on to the acrylic top. The only question that I have is where would me a good place to position my pumps. I really think I need to know this position so I know where to drill the holes. Should they be shooting completely across the tank at each other, or should they both be pointing at the center of the front glass or should they be facing to the back of the tank at the aquascaping. My tank is 190 gallons. The dimensions are 67" long X 24" wide X 26" high. High have a 6" southdown dsb.
Hope to here from you guys soon so I can start drilling. Thanks in advance.
Mike:)

mmync,

I have been going nuts about this also. As far as I can gather please read the following:

1) place the pumps opposite corners in the back and make them face the opposite corner. In other words: One pump will be in the left back corner facing the front right corner. Some what like a surround sound speaker. :D

2) You might need another pump due to the length of your tank

Good luck, these are my 2 cents

:)

Also look at this post:

loooove the 6000's

Locust put them inorder to make a circular motion in the tank. Not bad. I personally would not like the look of the stream in the frontish of the tank

I dunno, I just got the bracket for acrylic tanks (3000.224??) and put it wherever I wanted it.....

180 tank, 6100 in each back corner pointed towards the front middle. May add two 6000's on the sides pointed towards each other--I don't use a large return pump so most/almost all of my flow will come from these pumps....

i have four streams in a 6 foot tank three 6100 and one 6000.

I have one 6100 and a 6000 in the back corners of the tank pointing toward the opp front corners and the other two 6100 point at each other mounted in the middle of each end of the tank.

the tank is 2 foot deep and 2 foot wide, the flow is fantastic but I now have no sand at the front of the tank only had a 2 inch sandbed that is now behind the rocks, sand size is .125 micorns, ( use a glass bead and not sand)

You may be better getting a bracket to mount the steams on the tank so you can move them as I tend to think final results will depend on the rock layout and tank size and how you use the 7094,

And even though i can turn my tank into a washing machine the fish seems to love the current. it's fun to see a 6 inch red sea tang swimming hard against the current and even swimming 1 inch infron tof the stream. Great pumps lots of water yet still a soft current.
