Tunze power consumption

I want to preface this post by saying I know little to nothing about electricity.

A Tunze 6101 is listed as using 45W max. Is that 45W as measured at the wall or 45W in the water column? These have an AC-DC converter right? I assume that some power loss is happening with this conversion. I have no reason for the question other than I'm just curious. If there is a loss, is it any different with the older style pumps (6100's)?

There is some minor change between the 6100 and 6101.

6100 has the silver or blue box driver - 6101 driver is build-in to the motor

Older model 6100 has multiple pieces propeller with brake shoes - 6101 has one piece impeller without the brake shoes.

6100 has a round transformer - 6101 has the laptop like transformer

As for flow, both are the same gph and using the same wattage. As for the energy consumption concern i am pretty sure 45w from the wall ....

The 45W demand is in total, including the power supply. The 6101 actually uses about 40W, it was more efficient that the 6100 predecessor which used 45W and the 6105 uses only about 38W. The power supply does use about 1-2W on the 6101 or 6105. Roughly 36-38W is being used in tank with the pump running at full power.
