Tunze problem

Well late last night (what other time would something happen) I hear this awful high pitch alarm that I have never heard before coming from under the tank. Well it turns out it was coming from the driver box for one of my tunze pumps. Not sure what one yet but it is either a 6000 or 6100, does anyone know what this alarm is for? Do I just have to pull the pump out and clean it or is it going to need to be repaired/replaced? If so what do I have to do to set that up?

Usually caused by a dirty pump, check out the sticky post at the top of this forum on how to clean the pump.

thanks for the link, that is the case with mine, my only problem is the part at the bottom of the impeller with the orange O ring is stuck on the bottom, I got the o ring out but dont want to mess that part up getting it out, any tips? It is soaking in vinegar right now

The orange oring should be sitting behind that bearing actually. I always use a phillips screwdriver or you can use a long screw or large nail about the size of the hole in the bearing. If you use the nail or screwdriver in the hole onece in the hole angle it just a bit to give some pressure and pull it out. If you have a long pick you could grab it too.

well I managed to get it all apart and cleaned it out real good, got it back together and the alarm is still going off

I have also left everything unplugged for a while to see if it will reset or something but I still get the same result

Does it alarm immediately or after some seconds, be sure everything is properly reassembled, the oring should be at the bottom, then the upper bearing and the the main drive assembly. The magnet should spin freely on the upper bearing.

yes everything is as it should be spinning and clean. I plugged my other pump into the driver box and the alarm still went off but if I plugged the pump into the other driver box it did not spin.

The alarm will go off if the pump is not in water, is it being tested in water?

yes it is in water, I would never run a pump dry.
