Tunze Reefpack with Osmolator - HOW?

Hi There,

I am considering getting the Nano Reefpack and already have an osmolator installed on my system. My question is, how does one use both of these devices in conjunction with each other? My thinking is that the water level will drop within the Nanocleaner filter which has the surface skimmer attachment. At least this is what has occured on every other internal overflow I have ever built. If the Osmolator sensors cannot be mounted within the Nano cleaner filter chamber of the reefpack - what good is it maintain the water levels in the display. Cause as far as I can see from the online manuals for this + users pictures - if the sensors are mounted in the main display - they will never turn on to topoff - or at least until the Nano cleaner filter chamber of the reekpack becomes seriously low.

I would also love to hear from some existing owners - as to whether the osmolator sensors can be mounted with the Reefpack filter section (Nano cleaner)? This seems to me to make the best sense - is it is far more sensitive to evaporation than if the sensors were in the display.

I look forward to hearing everyones thoughts.

Karl

Hi Karl,

The Reefpack 200 is not designed to incorporate th the osmolator inside the skimmer or filter your existing setup will work best.

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for the reply. My main question is, if I have the reefpack in my tank and the osmolator mounted separately in the display - will the water level drop in the main display or within the Filter section of the reefpack as this has the overflow?

Many Thanks,

Karl

Hi Karl,

I found the filter section of the Nano filter only drops when the filter media is packed to tight or the media is not cleaned and becomes blocked. if the osmolator is mounted at the correct height in the display in regards to the surface skimmer height I can not see a problem, the osmolator is extremely sensitive to small changes in water level.

Regards
Graeme
