tunze replacement pump

i have just started doing maintenance on reef tanks. my first customer happens to have a 220 gallon setup in his dr. office. he bought a tunze pump (i beleive its a stream), and had it installed in the deco rock holder that you can get for these pumps about 2 years ago. needless to say the pump has stopped working. i tried taking it apart according to the instructions on the tunze website with no success, when i plug it into the ballast type box that runs to the multicontroller, i can feel the pump start to vibrate like it wants to work, then the alarm sounds. he wants know if the pump has a warranty, if not he wants me to find a replacement pump, it has to be one with the cord that goes to the little blue ballast type box...not sure what its called:confused: i have always wanted tunze equipment, just never had the money...i might start saving now depending on how getting this pump fixed works out....

thank you in advance!

If it is more than 2 years old it is out of warranty, if it has been in that rock for 2 years without cleaning I suspect it is locked up with calcium deposits. I don't think it would cost more than $100 to fix it and it is probably worth sending it in to see.

ok so if he decides he wants it sent in where should it be sent to, and is there a fee for checking to see if it is ever repairable? not sure what he will want to do, just want as much info as i can get for him so he can then decide what to do

No fee for checking it except shipping, if it just needs cleaning that will cost $25, otherwise parts he could likely need are the drive unit and or motor which will run about $100 for both.
