Tunze return pump TZ1737 (634 GPH)

Will this pump be a good pump for my return line from my sump to my tank? I have a 45 gallon 36x18x16. Or should I go with the next size up?

I assume you are asking about 1073.020? The part number you gave is likely a vendors stock number and not one of our product numbers. It will mainly depend how high you need to pump. 1073.020 loses flow quickly with head pressure, it does only about 250gph at 4ft, which is fine for a 45 with sufficient in tank flow. The 1073.040 does about 450 gph at 4 ft.

Awesome thanks Roger! That is exactly what I needed to know, that is the pump I was curious about, I will be running a Nanostream 6045 as well. In your opinion, do you think it would be a smarter choice to go with the larger pump (1073.040)?

I might suggest 2 6045, but the 1073.020 is fine for a 45 gallon if the head pressure is 4ft or less.
