Tunze=shrimp killer! Help!

I have a Tunze 6100 in my tank and so far its sucked in a Pep. shrimp and now one of my Cleaners! I had it set about 3/4 and now i have shut it down to about 1/4 till i can figure out what to do. Has anybody made some kind af shield? I can DIY something but i just want to see what you all have done...Pics???

How did it suck the shrimp? Unless the shrimp is ill and therefor weak, I dont think the tunze would suck it.
Did you have it off for a while and then the shrimp went in there and the pump restart again?

sometimes the the 'shell' from my fireshrimp molting gets plastered to the intakes of my MJ.

Could this be the case?

The pump has never been off nor do i use a controller on it. The shrimp was very healthy and active with no signs of disease. I thought of the molt myself but i have (had) 2 of them and now i only see the one. I will keep looking but i dont believe its a molt. The Tunze is positioned on some Tonga so the only thing i can see is that its was scavaging on/near the pwr head and sucko!

Maybe you could try putting some sponge around the intake but I don't know how that would effect the flow. Hope you get it figured out and sorry for your loss, Tim
