Tunze siezed up?

Hi, all...

I installed a pair of Tunze 6100's on a multicontroller in February, and everything has been great so far; very happy with them. Last night, though, a beeping came from the stand, and I traced it to one of the Tunze ballast thingies (how's that for a technical term :)). I discovered that one of the Tunzes had stopped. I used a flashlight, but didn't see anything blocking the rotor. I used my finger to gently turn the rotor, and it started up again.

It's worked fine since, including through a power down this morning (started back up OK). I had planned on cleaning the pumps about every 3 months or so...do I need to remove them more often than that? I have them in the rockwork setting, and taking them out is a pain, so I'm hoping not, but wanted to ask...

I would take them out and clean them as maybe it is nothing major but if they lock up from lime it will be a big pain for both of us. Don't position the pumps so it is hard to work on them. With good care these pumps will last forever but you need to clean them and they sometimes are more finicky in the wearing in phase especially if they got some sand or small particculate on start up
