Tunze skimmer 3130/2

I have been using this skimmer for a year..
from few days ago, motor just stopped..not spinning..but you can hear sound of running the pump..
should i purchase a new pump? for this matter?

No, you need a replacement drive unit or to clean the existing drive unit of calcium build up. If your skimmer was made prior to July of 2000 you need part 3000.50, after that you need part 3000.60.

Did you buy it new or used. If it is a new style 3130/2 you will simply pull up on the impeller and the drive unit will come out. If it doesn't you found your problem- Calcium has locked it in place- let me know because the worst thing you can do is put the pump in acid and it would be best to send it to me. 75% of the time I can successfully repair these pumps but it requires brute force and I don't recommend trying it yourself.
