Tunze Skimmer and BB?

I have a 30 cube Barebottom setup. Tons of flow, and decent rock placement.
My only concern is everytime I read people saying "you need a few things to make the BB setup work: over the top flow, lots of fish that you feed (a lot), and a POWERFUL skimmer."

Whenever I read that last part I start to doubt my setup. I do have my skimmer set up to skim wet, and it pulls out a good 150 ML's / day of lighter colored green skimmate (or about 100 ml's every 2-3 days of dark brown/dark green skimmate if I set it to run dryer)

What do y'all think? Is it feasible to run a BB setup with a Tunze? I'm thinking YES, but please confirm this.

Thanks!

which Tunze are you thinking? I had the 9002 (nano skimmer) and it worked fine on my 55g, so I think it would ok for your 30g.

It also depends on how much of a bioload (fish) you have.

I have the Nano 9002.

that's the thing as well.. I have a light bioload.. only 2 clowns and a smallish Randall's goby.

I was looking at the skimmate production and it has been pretty decent the past few days as well

I think you'll be fine given your bioload.

One thing I've noticed with the 9002's is that after 3 days or so (once the cup gets about 1" of skimmate), the skimmer loses most, if not ALL its efficiency. So keep your cup clean.

Great skimmer though.

I completely agree with you: you have to keep the skimmer cup CLEAN.

Thank you for this
