Tunze Solenoid Water Valve, 8555.200

Can this product connect to AC power supply? Does it basically let water go through when there is power supplied (to RO tubing). What I am trying to set up is to auto-refill my fresh water reservoir when the water level is too low. If I place a float valve there, which completes the electrical circuit to allow the RO to "turn on" with this solenoid, it would do what I need it to do.

Thank you.

This valve is a spare part of 8555 which is our RO shut off system. The valve itself is low voltage (9-12V DC) and has bare wire ends for connection to the 8555.100 controller.

I have had a couple of customers do this from mains water supply and it works as long as you use a pressure reducer when connected to mains water supply and of course a transformer from ac to dc supply

Please keep in mind that solenoids are prone to failure, especially with tap water, we recommend placement after the RO system. Lime and sediment can jam the valve so it fails to close. I am always very hesitant to recommend a solenoid for a water supply, the results can be catastrophic if every caution is not followed to the letter. It is not a question of the quality of our valve, this is an issue of solenoids in general and I would not stake my floors and walls or my aquarium on the reliability of a valve.
