Tunze Stream Magnet Holders

How thick is the holder (the one made for 1/2" glass)?

I'm planning a 180g "built into" kitchen cabinetry, and need to know how much wiggle room I need on each side of the tank.

Thanks

It is 5/8" thick but please consider the room needed for positioning and installation, I would leave at least 3".

Thank you. Do you also have the thickness on the magnet holder rated for 3/4" glass? Our cabinet designer is trying to make as "tight" of a fit as possible between the tank and cabinetry. Do you think I could get away with 1" of space? Basically, leave just enough space to place the magnet on the exterior of the tank, and move the magent by dragging it along from the inside?

They are the same physical dimensions, only the strength of the magnets inside changes. Those magnets can be quite dangerous and you want to have room to work with them and slide them into contact with each other, they do not slide easily as they have rubber feet and are very, very strong.

Thanks, very good information to have. I'll give myself more room. Are the magnets stronger than my Magnavore 6 cleaner?

I haven't used a Magnavor but I can tell you they are very strong and it isn't fun to get them on your hand. I have had it happen twice with no one around to help and it really sucks. Especially if they catch the web between your thumb and forefinger.

We met with our kitchen designer yesterday, and we will be able to design a 3" clearance on each side of the tank, while keeping the "built-in" look we're going for.

Thanks!
