Tunze Stream Rock

Thinking of getting a couple. Does anyone use these? How do you like it compared to mounting the pump on the glass? I'm curious how you can adjust the direction of the stream with the rock. How about being able to remove the pump for cleaning/maintenance? Kind of expensive so I want to make sure it's worth it!

I have 4 tunzes in my 215, one in each back corner. The 2 in the lower corners are both in a tunze rock and I like them a lot, and I have received compliments from other hobbist that have seen my tank. The pumps just slide out so it isnt hard to removed them for cleaning. Only thing I was concernd about was that I have a sand bed made of the "special grade" substrate. When I first turned the tunzes on they sucked up and blew around a lot of the sand. I ended up cutting a piece of thin acrylic to match the the shape of the stone and then placed it under the stone. This has work well you cant see it and the tunzes no longer blow my sand around.

I didn't think about the sucking up sand part. I'd probably put them on a rock platform to prevent that from happening. So if the rocks are towards the bottom of the tank, can you still point the pump up towards the surface or do you have to angle the whole rock to point it up? Thanks for the feedback!

Ideally the Stream rock is the top rock on a structure to avoid taking in sand and keep the pump accessible for cleaning, you just move the rock to aim the pump and you can shim it up or down with other rocks to affect the angle.
