Tunze Streams for my 100 gal

Hi all,

I am setting up a 100 gal mixed reef, and I am currently dealing with the issue of circulation/current.

I have an Iwaki 30RLT that I thought I could encorporate in the setup for a UV Sterilizer (turned on manually when desired). But a friend recently informed me of these tunze streams, and I was hoping someone could recommend which ones I should encorporate in my setup.

BTW, should I sell the Iwaki 30RLT (510 handling headpressure) and get a 30 RLXT (960gph) for just circulation? Or should I keep the 30 RLT, additionally getting an RLXT with multiple tank returns, and then one of the tunze streams?

I want to do this right, and I am not sure which way to go. Let me know what you recommend. I will buy/sell if neccesary.

What are the tank dimensions? In general I don't recommend Streams for shallow aquariums and the usual 100 is quite shallow. Perhaps the standard Turbelle Electronic would be more appropriate.

The tank is about 20-21 inches tall. It's also 60 inches long.

Thats what I thought. What do you plan to keep? Plans for substrate?

I Just bought a whole bunch of that Pure Caribbean reef aragonite. Sugar-fine grade. Although someone mentioned if I mix grades, it won't blow around everywhere?

This is going to be tricky- the tank is just so shallow that the jet from the Streams is going to strongly agitate the sand. I would suggest finding another system be it closed loop, Seaswirls or 7400/2 pumps.
