Hi Roger,

Questions from someone just learning about reef tanks.
I am in the planning stage for a 95 G AGA "Wave" tank installation in a new home. Space is a major concern. I have considered a closed loop system for water circulation. From reading about your Turbelle Stream products, am I correct in understanding that these would eliminate the need for all that CL plumbing?
I am not yet knowledgable enough to tell you what I plan to keep in the tank. But for general puposes, would 2 6000 and a 7095 be suitable for this sized tank?

Thanks for your help, Fred

Yep, a couple of 6000's and a 7095 would be a good starting point. If you then decide you want mo flow, you can upgrade the 6000's to 6100's with a transformer upgrade.

Thanks, Dave, for your help.

If 6100's would be desirable, I wouild prefer to do that at the onset. But it raises for me the following question....
Each 6000 supplies about 1850 gph, then 2 = 3700 gph. Two 6100's does about 6200 gph. If I would plan on a 50 gal support system, minus the volume of water lost to substrate and live rock, I estimate total water voume to be about 100 gal. That would mean a water flow of >30 times per hour. The 6100's delivers >60 times per hour. Isn't that a bit of overkill?

Thanks again, Fred

The only reason to start with 6100's is if your tank will be bare bottom and you will focus on SPS, otherwise the 6000's are quite sufficient.
