Tunze wave controller 6091

Hi Roger, I have a Tunze Wavebox 6212.50. I have noticed recently it stops pumping occasionally. If I touch the cables running from the Tunze wave controller 6091 it starts up again, but only if the cables are in the exact right position. I am assuming there is a short either in the unit or the cables. Is there any way to fix this or do I need a new controller? If I need a new controller can you give me a ball park cost. I know you are in the States and I am in Canada, but a rough guess would be appreciated.

The current controller is the 7092, it would be a worthwhile upgrade. While the cable could be replaced, it is not easy as the color coding of the wires has changed and you have to trace out the pin/wire match first. I would do it but at $25 and shipping back and forth to Canada, the superior 7092 for about $80 is a pretty good deal as shipping is likely to run $40 both ways.
