Tunze Wavebox Noise?? HELP

Hello

This is my first post on Reef Central.
I just purchased the Wavebox 4 days ago for my 120 G, and all I can say is Wow I love it. No need for any powerheads , however to generate some alternating current have kept one. and plan to upgrade to the Tunze nano streams in the future.

I do have a problem however. I have a 120 All Glass tank with the center double overflows. I get no noise here from splash-over (which I thought I may have)

My noise comes from the unit itself. I am using only one tunze magnet at the lower portion of the box. Because of my oceanic stand and cap, I am unable to use the top slots for the magnet. The box wont sit high enough.

When the pump pulses I get a very noticable hum , Should these units be completly silent, I have never owned any streams before. I was told by one to get a second magnet (thinking it was box vibration) But I dont think it is....

I have taken out the pup and replaced but with the same result, The foam ring should stay on right?? It also seems to be more quiet when the top cap of the box remains off. Mine only has 1 set of slats opposed to some pictures that I have seen of a full slotted top.

My wife says it sounds like an alien when its pulsing, I am lost

PLEASE help or explain what this sound could be

Thanks

Wow, my was very quite only little noise but that if you are putting your ear right next to the box.

Try to move the blue round sponge all the way back of the pump. Also cut out a small piece of foam and stick it between the end of the pump and the back wall. ( if you push the pump to the left you will see the gap )

i havnt put the foam piece in behind, but it has started to quiet down a bit. I will give it the 2 week period to break in before I try to do anything else. I need to find a top with full slats

Shouldn't be noisy - can you elaborate where the noise is coming from? Is it a thud from something banging or a water whooshing sound? I have an AGA 180 and stock Canopy and am able to use the wave box. I use 2 magnets. I rotated the top magnet 180 degrees (clockwise) from where it is supposed to be (ie upside down). This resulted in the two magnets sticking but the outside magnet is misaligned by 1 inch or so - this misalignment results in the outside magnet being 1 inch lower than the inside magnet. Mounting it this will allows me to use my stock canopy which tends to cover the black trim and some glass from the tank.
