Tunze wavebox users ????????

What is tha maxium wave that the box makes in a 4 foot tank ????
I have one that im gonna be using in my 120 and wanna max it out so i need to know how far down to make my overflow for it

i have 140g tank and i get about 1"-1 1/2" wave

Best I can get is about 1" in my 4' 90g.

Totally amplitude of the wave will be around 1 1/2 inches that is down 3/4 " and up 3/4 of an inch from stable water level. Hope that helps. Seems to vary on tank design and rock formations a bit but it aint gonna be a tsunami, I have yet to see a commercial designed tank that overflows. At worst, sometimes when I try to move my magnetic cleaner aorund the end, if it times perfectly with the wave I will get a small splash over. Nothing real significant, a paper towel to clean the glass. Does that help?

I wouldnt call it dangerous on a 4'

GMAX is right on the money ... mine may go up about 1" then down 1" but mine is still brand new.

Cool thanks guys How far down do you guys think i should drill my hole for the drain .....Im not havuing a overflow box just a drain hole
