Hi I live in the UK and a couple of months ago my friend bought a Tunze Wavebox from a company in the Netherlands, after only having this for about 3 weeks it stopped working and the driver box got hot so you could not touch it. I got in touch with the company that he bought it from and they told him to return it to Tunze Germany, which he did at a cost of £21 UK pounds which in fairness the company in the Netherlands refunded. Now after only running for about 3 weeks after being repaired it has stopped again and the driver box is getting hot again. I contacted the company of behalf of my friend and asked for a full refund on this item as it had failed again and he had lost all faith in it. I was told to get in touch with Tunze Germany and that it was up to them as what to do about it. My question being has anyone on this site had any trouble with the new improved Tunze Wavebox and if so what, i believe there is a Tunze man on here who may be able to tell me and give my friend some answers as he has a product that he paid £300 for which is not working after being repaired only a few weeks ago. He does not want this item repairing again he just wants his money refunded so he can get an alternative. Thanks Eric

I have been running a wavebox since they came out and love them. It is not new technology it uses the 6200 stream pump and that has been around for a long time and has a great track record. I do agree that is is a bummer having it repaired twice but from the experimence i have had with Tunze I think his experience is a fluke and he should give them another chance. There is just simply nothing out there that preforms like the wavebox.
Hi thanks for your reply, the wavebox that my friend has is a new improved version as we have been told by Tunze UK, the propellor is now a solid piece instead of one that you can take to bits and repair it. The pump as also changed apparently its a cross between a 6100 and a 6200, i believe this as i had a wavebox 2 years ago with the 6200 pump in and it was a lot more powerful than this one and had the impellor that you could take to bits. It is a good bit of kit provided it works wel but when they break down twice in a couple of months it does not instill confidence in the product. I am amazed at Tunze not getting there act together with producing there products, as every where you go in the UK the Tunze products are always in short supply, and by the sound of it in the USA its not much better either which to me is not right. The only part that was changed from the first wavebox to the current one is the drive unit which is now a one piece design. Without seeing the unit I really couldn't say the cause but in all fairness the main source of your friends frustration is not buying it from a UK dealer where he could then get it serviced under warranty by Tunze UK, it may not have prevented the second break down but the service time would have been much shorter and the shipping cost much less.
Hi Roger, Yes that was the problem buying it from outside the UK but its done now. The wavebox worked fine the first few weeks and then the driver box went , now after a further 3 weeks after being repaired the driver box has gone again. As i said my freind has lost all faith in this product and really wants a full refund of all monies paid, but the company who sold it wont do that and have passed it on to Tunze Germany to sort out. I am sorry but this is outside of the region I have any control over, if it was in the USA I would fix it for you. I am unsure what happened, it could just be bad luck and a second driver box burned out, I am also unsure as to what effect the UK 240V power has on the pump if it was built for 230V mainland Europe, I don't know if the transformers are different to compensate and if the problem is this difference. I know for the US for example our transformers put out less voltage to compensate for the higher Hz which make more power in the AC-DC conversion that happens in the driver box. If he calls the factory when they open they speak English and he may be able to arrange something before he sends it in. I will see if I can contact Tunze UK today and possibly arrange something.
