Tunzes 6101

Can you buy a new motor block for a Tunze 6101?
We currently have 4 of the 6101 and they are getting older and could use a tune up.

The motors are no longer available, you can order part 6101.015 on Tunze com (old motor part number) and the part you will get is a new 6105 pump only.

Will the new motor block match our magnets for the 6101?
Also have you improved the engineering on the motor block to the power supply?

The connection has remained identical, you might take a look at the 6105.600 cable safe, it may help with salt and water exposure if it is not extreme. It is not water tight so this helps, but is not absolute.

If you don't mind me piggy backing on this thread...

I also have 4 Tunze 6101's - yesterday after using the feed button one of the pumps would sporadically try to start but not run continuously. It appears not to be working at all today. I swapped the power inputs and am certain that is not the problem. The impeller assembly also looks fine.


Any way I can test the motor block further?

How can I tell how old the part is for warranty purposes?

The 6101 ceased production July 2008, unless you had a receipt showing more recent purchase it would not be warranty as it would be at least 3.5 yrs old by manufacture date. In the event of a dead motor, the 6105 upgrade is the same price as the replacement 6101 motor was, it is offered as part 6101.015 on tunze.com.

We sent (2) 6101 motors and (3) power supplys in today for repair...

Am I correct the 6101.015 part would necessitate a new shroud and impeller?


Is there a repair option on the 6101 motor?

Shroud and impeller are included.

The motor is sealed and outside of replacing the drive unit (impeller or propeller assembly), no other repair is possible.
