Can anyone tell me if a separate pump adapter is require per pump to connect them to a multicontroller?

Is this the only way to get them to function for wave generation (throttling the pumps up and down)?

Yes, you need the 7092.40 adapter, you can connect up to 4 4002s to this adapter. I don't know of any other way to connect the pumps to the controller.

Yes, they will do the exact same thing at the same time but you can connect them to the same socket you just need a 2 way or 3 way plug splitter or a six strip, the max load is 250W.

Would the pump adaptors be required to run the pumps on a GHL ProfiLux?

I can't say for sure but if it is like our controller in the output then they would be required.

I know that nano streams 6055 do not require a separate controller to run from the GHL. I have also emailed GHL in Germany who have advised that classic pumps do not require the pump adaptors. I did email Tunze in Germany and got no response, as they are expensive pumps I don't want to make an expensive mistake....

Would you be able to find out anything from Tunze on my behalf?

We don't try every competitors product so we would not know for sure, but unless their controller has a 240V output with speed control I don't think it is possible. It would need to control an asynchronous AC motor. Years ago these were fairly popular, Fischer was another company that offered them but it is very old technology.

Managed to pick up some classic pumps 2nd hand, 2 x 2002's and 1 x 4002, have ordered new housings etc for the 2002's as the motors are working perfectly.

The 4002, is not working, if I spin the prop when it is turned on the motor try's to kick in, but doesn't succeed.

Do you think the motor is faulty/dead, given date of manufacture was 1999?

I also noticed some salt creep around the point at which the shaft set going the motor. Is there a method for cleaning the motor unit further?

(Amazing pumps by the way, the 2002's are also about 10-years old and still working like new, and shift an amazing amount of water)

You need to change the bearings on the 4002, part 4002.260. It is a good idea to change them every 3 years. The salt has likely destroyed the bearings, but the motor is probably still good.

Thanks for the info, I have removed the holding bolts note sure what to do next the bearings are held really tight. Is it just a matter of using considerable force?

They are rusted onto the shaft, use some penetrating oil and let them soak for a day and then try light taps with a small hammer to knock things loose.

The 2002 replacement motor, part no.2002.110 do you know if it includes the rotor, part 2002.220, from the picture it looks like it does but I am not sure.

I love these pumps, used them for years. I have never come across a pump that was so serviceable and well built. I now have a smaller tank and favor the streams, but these are my second favorite way to provide flow. They just last forever. No heat added to the tank from the motor and they push some serious water. Glad to see someone putting the time in to refurbish. well done.

I ordered two new housings from Tunze agent in the UK and they sent me one traditional sort of cream colour and one dark brown.

The black color is the new color, I haven't yet seen one in person.
