turbelle electronic to 6100 conversion

Hi Roger,
Talked to you the other day about converting my pair of 7400's to 6100's with the conversion kit. Unfortunately, I no longer am able to access the date on the top of my pumps. The pumps are coated with 1/8" of coralline and some encrusting corals in certain areas. I even tried to chisel away growth on the top with a screw driver and razor blade, but started to scrape away the plastic as well.

I know that these pumps were ordered by the LFS (Preuss Animal House) and came with the first shipment of available Streams in mid to late 2002, but am not sure about the Manufacturing date.

What is really the difference between the old style and the new style of turbelle 7400's?

I am trying to determine compatability of these pumps with the conversion kit.

Questions:
Can I determine the manufacturing date of these 7400's by the date that they were shipped to the LFS?

Can I determine the manufacturing date by the bar code on the box?

Can I determine conversion compatability by ANY other means that the date that is in the plastic on the pump which I can't see?

If they came in when Streams were available it is likely OK. The main concern is older pumps from 2000 and 2001 had hand made, hand tuned electronics and these can have issues when used as a Stream, we also had some tolerance issues with the impeller wells in the early years of the redesign. The date is pressed into the back top of the pump near the clip, it is 3 digits read as series, quarter, year.
