My turbo snail has been doing a good job cleaning the tank but he oftenly stops and releases what i believe is his feces. Its SOO much and its all over my substrate and it looks bad. It (the feces) is cylinder in shape, about 2mm. Is he ok and is this normal.

i got antrea snails and i never seen their poop. on the other hand, this turbo snail poops like 4 times a day and its ALL over the substrate

It's a funny thing about life forms, their excretements tend to be in direct proportions to their food intake.

Fun fact: snails poo on their heads:rollface:

Drix, excretion is not directly proportional to intake, part is utilized for energy and some lost as heat. If you eat a pound of spagetti, you don't gain a pound and you don't poo a pound out afterwards :D

Zooz, give your tank some time. It's taken me about a year but my tank has finally stabilized and algae isn't so much of an issue anymore. You may want to check your phosphates to see if you have excess nutrient issues contributing to your algae growth. Less algae = less poo

Yea im still waiting to see coraline algae on the glass...I checked my phosphates and they are very slightly above 0. Thanks for the fun facts.

I like your display pic fishyvet

waiting is good. My tank 2 years t get substantial growth in the tank... I dont add any additives. 4 years later the back is covered, and almos all sides are covered. If I could I would ship some to u. once you get it it should spread throughout.
