Turbo Snail Question and Possible Pest Problem.

I have had my 125 gallon set up for just over two weeks now. I had a brown algae problem so i put some gfo and carbon into the system. I was also doing frequent water changes. Once the algae seemed to stop growing I added some turbo snails to clean up some algae. They have been in there for 3 days now and all is going well except for the fact that they are running out of algae to eat!!! Is there any way of feeding these guys? Or should i just let them be? THE TANK WAS BROWN!!!! NOW LOOK!!!

amphipods? When the lights are out take a flashlight to the glass. If they scuttle on over thats my guess. Anyway to get some on a slide under a microscope?

You usually hear about people complaining that their snails are lazy. Looks like you have some workers in there.

On the glass would be copepods & isopods mainly. They're fine.
You can supplement your snails with sheet algae or take all but one back to the store.

So the pests are fine? Don't need to get rid of them?.....and these are some nice snails...really don't wanna get rid of them at the moment....there's 10 in the 125

The pods on your glass aren't pests, they're fine. Natural part of the progression of a tank, good food for fish, and help keep the little gunk in check.

As said, you can supplement the turbos with sheet algae.
